Packed with high definition video playback and built-in 5.1 surround sound, Hangar 18 is an all-in-one home theatre solution that doesn’t offer popcorns. Alienware’s media computer consists of PC components and has been designed to suit your living room.
This product from alien planet is so much familiar with us as it supports video playback at up to 1080p resolution and enables the connectivity to HDMI-capable televisions or standard computer monitors.
Its $1999 configuration includes 250-gigabyte hard drive, but it can go up to two terabytes with other configurations offering you more room to store your favorite movies, music, games, home videos, digital photos, and recorded TV programs.
Windows Vista’s Media Centre software supports the recording and playing back live television as well as downloaded music and movies. In its standard version, one can have two video tuners, one for digital HD content and one for analog broadcast.
At the same time, Hangar 18 can handle up to four tuners and record up to four channels. Besides supporting 802.11g and Bluetooth wireless, it has a remote control that mimics the functions of a mouse when moved in three dimensions.
