Halluc II- eight-legged robot with 13 censors

We love Robots. It is this love only that is blessing our souls with Technological inventions happening at Future Robotics Technology Center.
Now we have “Halluc II,” developed by Takayuki Furuta, chief of the Future Robotics Technology Center at the Chiba Institute of Technology in Tokyo on 25 July 2007.
This eight-legged robot, equipped with 13 censors measures distance below and side of the body, two censors to spot impediment in 360-degree around the body, three axis sensors to keep the proper body balance, can move flexibly in three different styles as vehicle, insect and animal, with a total of 56 motors.
The great mind behind this product Furuta said it is being developed for various terrains including natural disaster-hit roads or off-roads for emergency, rescue and welfare operations in the future.
