The revamped PSP is a third lighter than its predecessor and is19% slimmer with improved battery life and video display. Expected to hit the market in September, the PSPs can be plugged into television sets to play on the larger screens or to watch video downloaded to the devices.

By Andrew | July 9, 2007
The talk here is about the expected launch of Vista SP1 beta1. Possibility is questioned due to the earlier delay of first Vista pack. But runour is spreading around like a virus that this time
Beta 1 of Vista SP1 would hit the market in mid-July (during the week of 16 July).
Against this, the U.S. Department of Justice and other company watchers believe that SP1’s final version will enter into the market only in November 2007, which is probable tome for the launch of Windows Server 2008 (Longhorn Server).
Instead of making loads of promises and following under-delivery approach, Microsoft’s Windows client team plans to follow a restraining information-flow policy. To practice the policy, Director of Windows Engineering Steven Sinofsky is making efforts to maintain secrecy about the insights of the issues related to future Windows client guidelines.
Besides desktop-search modifications, Microsoft’s SP1 would be renowned for its fixes rather than features.
1) S1 assures is not time-consuming in terms of copying files and shutting down Vista machines.
2) The SD Advanced Direct Memory Access (DMA) offers enhanced transfer performance and decreased CPU utilization.
3) It has the ability to boot Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) on an x64 machine

Slipways Underwear: Needed but under-developed protection against mobile radiations
By Andrew | July 7, 2007
Though I’ve heard many a warnings about the radiations emitted by mobile phones posing a risk to the user’s health (read sperm count), but honestly speaking, I’ve never really let them bother my mobile usage nor seen anybody else getting bothered. But in case you are one of those who prefer playing safe and won’t mind taking some precautionary measures, if available to guard you against the radiations, then all you need to do s wear this special ‘underwear’.
Hey! I’m neither a muddle head nor I have lost my senses as yet. The Slipways Radiation-proof underwear in fact claims to protect the wearer against the radiations emanated by gadgets like mobile phones. But, here lies a twist…they will protect you only if the call will be made from the confines of the underwear…but who the hell is gonna do that? This lavish…apparently useless and over protective underwear (I’m calling it lavish as it’s made out of silver threads and useless coz, don’t think many people are in a habit of making calls from the underwear), is developed by Swiss designers and will cost you approximately $24…any pickers for the knickers? He he
On a serious note:
Though this underwear comes to fore as a useless invention at the face value, just because it works only when the mobile is used only from the confines of the underwear, but it is not a farce that mobile radiations do cause a lot of health problems. So a gadget that has a wider scope of function can definitely come as a use for extensive mobile users.

Gadget boom is a doom for energy industry
By Andrew | July 4, 2007
Decorating their living place with gadget accessories viz. flat-screen televisions, computers, ipods, iphones or other sundry gadgets makes one feel great but not at the cost of electricity-crisis. Yes, a survey done by an energy conservation body, Energy Saving Trust (EST) said that the usage of hi-tech gadgets consume nearly half of a typical household’s total electricity by 2020.
The study says that the latest models launched today are thirstier than the earlier ones. The worst part is the non-existence of the switch button, which is the favorable factor for consumers inviting all eyeballs. The trust claims that households can save 37 pounds a year on their energy charts by switching off the devices.
A comparison says that today 60% of households carries personal computer against 3% in 1982.
And the same goes for printer, which has been handpicked by gadget freaks and is shooting up to 58% from 0.7%. The trend is to replace the old TV sets with the new ones with large screens. The report says that by 2020, 1.4% of the domestic electricity would be consumed by televisions.
Not only this, a cut in the energy will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which is a worthy step to peep into climate change
