W5Fe

Overshadowing the doubts of ASUS coming out with the cheapest UMPC ever, the company has lately unveiled its new W5Fe series of notebooks in India. This 12-inch electronic product comes packed with a unique external display known as “SideShow”. The USP of the display resides in its feature to switch on without starting the entire system, thereby displaying preferred information via text, images and audio. The high-resolution swivel webcam gives this product every reason to flaunt itself with wireless video communiqué.

The features of this power-packed device doesn’t end here as operating on Windows Vista with an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor; the notebook carries 1.5GB of DDR2 RAM, 160 GB hard disk, a TV-Out, 3 USB ports and 8in1 card-reader.

With 12.1-inch WXGA LCD display, the device is ready to hit its prospective user at $2,423. But I am still hopeful that ASUS update its portfolio soon by adding the tag of producing the Cheapest UMPC till date.
