Sony’s First Light-Emitting Diode Display: XEL-1

Sony Corp.’s unveils its first-ever TV with an organic light-emitting diode display during a press unveiling in Tokyo on 1 October 2007. This 11-inch display TV called XEL-1 is anticipated to hit the Japan market by 1 December.

Measuring just 3 millimeters (0.12 inches) thick, it is as slim as a coin.

Price: $1,700 (200,000 yen)
