Use-and-throw disposable cell phone for $20 from Hop On
By Cheryl | July 12, 2008
I don’t know how great is the idea of making disposable cell phones, for I personally o not get bored off so easily…but there might me souls who appreciate the use-and-throw mobile concept. If you are one of the suckers of the concept, then Telcoms.com has made a “test purchase” of 10,000 units of those disposable cell phones from Hop-On. The disposable cell phones are pretty low at $ 20, making them a cool bet to throw when you are off them.
Coming to the features, first repercussion of the low cost is the fact that the phone has no screen and just a number key pad and another quick button to call 911. That means no SMSs with this one. The disposable phone employs a Texas Instruments chipset and operates on the 900/1800MHz band.
There’s no info as to when these phones will be available for sale so all you can do is wait. A good idea for students who are usually in financial crunch. A good news for distributors, the Hop on’s disposable phones allow you to print your own branding on them!
