The US Digital Media, which is a full-service provider and caters with DVD, CD and USB applications, deals with their duplications and replication services. They have launched their USDM Photo Finish with Smudge Guard CDR. The smudge-proof inkjet CDs are part of their premium recordable CDs and feature a silver inkjet printable surface and is resistant to dust, moisture, scratches and looks like one of those expensive thermal printed discs. The CDs cost $6.99 for 10.
The CDs have a capacity of 700MB and last 80 minutes for audio. The CDs may be soon forgotten thanks to Blu-Ray and other such storage medium. However, high quality CDs are still preferred by the recording industry and other such industries.

Now that we have been waiting for HP’s SmartPhone for quite sometime, the HP’s revelation of the iPaq Voice Messenger and the Data Messenger have come as a pleasant surprise. Both the smartphones will come sim-free or bundled with Vodafone contract. The HP Ipaq Data Manager comes with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and has a slide-out keyboard, 2.8″ screen, 3.1 megapixel camera and the usual WiFi and Bluetooths.
The HP Ipaq Voice Messenger comes with 20-keys and Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard. The phone also has a smaller screen and GPS. The phones according to me are not feature rich and the 3.1-megapixel camera is surely a turn off when Samsung has already launched a phone with 8 megapixel camera.

Have you ever wanted a charger that was fuel-efficient, was portable and was also small in size? Well, you are definitely not the first one and even asking a question like that is dumb enough. Err. Panasonic announced yesterday that it has developed a fuel cell, which can be utilized to charge mobile gadgets.
The company has unveiled two models of which one can be loaded inside a notebook and the other model can be used to charge mobile devices externally. The models run on Li-ion secondary battery and run on 200ml of methanol. The device reduces volume, as the joints of the cell stacks are not required to generate power and the uses a fuel cell.

LCD panels that can be used to view 3D images just with naked eyed have been a rarity to say the least. NEC LCD Technologies Ltd has announced the development of 12.1-inch amorphous Si TFT LCD, which has a resolution of 800 x 600. This could be used in a variety of settings like gaming, movies, industrial CAD, medical imaging etc.
The applications are so varied that it created a quite a buzz at the CEATEC JAPAN 2008. The company uses the HDDP method in which RGB sub-pixels are arranged in horizontal stripes and pixels are divided in to two for both the eyes. Since the 2D and 3D images are displayed at almost the same resolution, one could simultaneously enjoy watching 2D and 3D images.

The Notify NavSystem would be a surprising and refreshing piece of news for people who thought that safety while riding a bike only meant a good helmet. The Notify NavSystem, designed by industrial designer J. David Weiss, is a stylish package that heightens safety amongst bikers by sending navigational directions to the rider. The Notify NavSystem includes two main components- a snazzy looking glasses and a watch. The glasses, which have a pair of earphones attached to it, receive signals which are then conveyed to the biker via the earphones. The watch component connects to the glasses through Bluetooth to send directions regarding terrain; these two components are kept up to date in real-time with A-GPS technology.

This is cooler because it can be folded and hence saves space too and does not get bulky.
