A 72″ 3D Display Which Could Be Viewed With Naked Eye

Here is the latest from the world of 3D. Japan’s National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) and Victor Company of Japan Ltd have developed a 72″ 3D display, which could be viewed with naked eye.

Multiple projectors project image on the screen from the back and enable 3D representation. What is amazing is that each projector provides a pixel count of 100 million or more. Thanks to the optical system, alignment of the projectors and the ways of light, the resulting image is a realistic and believable one and looks almost life like. They are planning to develop a 200 to 300 3D display, which can be viewed with the naked eyes.

However, for now, the 72″ has a display of 1920 x 1080p and looks like it while take a while to completely materialize. In any case, this is an exciting development in the field of 3D and could help in gaming and animation to begin with and the possibilities are endless.
