Design attack: Boynq Swing USB Hub

By Cheryl | August 20, 2008

boynq_swing_ usb HUb

USB hub is the need of the hour when so many attachments and applications are supposed to be worked in a single PC. But I just don’t like those too technical USB hubs. But the all new Boynq Swing USB Hub ended my search of a good looking yet functional USB hub. This one in all black is not only sleek but spacious too. Boynq can suspend as many as four USB drives under its graceful arch.

If that was all about looks, the features are no less competitive including DC power for multiple high-powered USB devices and offers protection at the same time.

A cool combo of a beautiful design and technological functionality makes Boynq Swing USB Hub a welcome break on any desk. The Newton’s cradle like USB hub can be yours for somewhere around $25.

Ying Yang digital camera: When form meets functionality

By Cheryl | August 19, 2008

Ying Yang digital camera

All that we could make out from many pictures and very little information available about the Ying Yang digital camera on designer’s website is that it’s a unique and curiosity builder camera.

More than user the camera designed by Kubasek Krzysztof will be a treat to watch for the people getting clicked it seems! The two halves combine to make this camera, with one featuring the lens and the LCD screen, while the other half containing the flash memory and the USB port. So all you need to load the pics into the memory drive or download them into your PC is join the two halves and there you go without any extra wires and cables. Quite smart!

The click button lies in front, which seems quite impractical but despite all those little things that we couldn’t understand the fact that the Ying Yang digi cam is an intelligent combination of functionality and design is crystal clear. And we are simply waiting for this concept to get real!

Monza: Automated Ferrari from the future

By Cheryl | August 18, 2008

Monza automated futuistic car

Meet Monza, another mean machine straight from the future. Designed by Iman Maghsoudi, this one is a perfect portrayal of his belief that driving cars in the future will be like operating a PC while zooming at 200 km/h. Thanks to the unsurpassable technological advancement this otherwise impossible phenomenon will now be achieved thanks to the hyper-computerized Monza that is not just built for speed but also for auto driving.

At the low speed beginning of your journey on Monza, you’ll be sitting inside the cockpit controlling it like a motorcycle but as soon as the speed exceeds a particular limit, the car gets into the auto mode and the computer takes over relieving you. At this stage, the vehicle transforms into something looking like an airfoil to provide maximum aerodynamics.

Monza automated futuistic car

The design is such that it creates a lift to reduce friction while the strong ground effects keep you from taking off. Since the vehicle will be swimming in air, thanks to its speed, the 2 manta ray like fins continue their work of adjusting to channel air to keep the vehicle well balanced and swiftly floating…errr…running!

By Cheryl | August 18, 2008

geekini-1

Bikini is passé Geekini is the latest buzz word among the gamers, nerds, geeks and above all –MEN, who love anything that’s somewhere linked to the female form and this one gives them an easy access to the most desired assets of hers.

The Geekini is somewhat like a gaming bra. Designed by the naughty and innovative French designer John Nouanesing, Geekini Nintendo Controller classic two-piece bikini featuring strategically placed A, B and directional buttons from the original Nintendo controller. So to get into the player mode either you have to wear this on your self and then enjoy the game or get a real girl get into it to give you some real action.

geekini-2

I wonder who will play the game when he’s pushing all the right buttons at the right time. The girl has to be head over heels in love with you if she says yes to get all that mashing and pushing of her twin assets. Just have a look at the placement of the buttons and you’ll die to hit START and she’ll never want to PAUSE! I can bet men will immediately start their prayers the moment they know that geekini is just a concept awaiting materializing.
