It feels great to know that together with making leaps towards unmatched developments we are not forgetting to work for cause and keep coming up with innovations to make the lives of the less-deprived better by great degrees!

The ‘Sens’ phone designed by Takumi Yoshida is a step in this direction only. You must be wondering, how come a phone without a screen! But, this one is as it’s for those who can barely sense the numbers on the keys. The ’sens phone’ is designed for the nearly blind. The lighted sides on the phone help them get various alert messages, while the keys feature those standards “blind man’s dimple” to make dialling and easier attempt for them.

Not just this, the keyboard arrangement here features more tactile keys that are not just easily distinguishable but also help them interact with the device. The ’sens phone comes to fore as an intelligent design that highlights and harnesses the more usable features and eliminates the less or nearly not usable features like the screen.

Kohler Crevasse Sink

A perfectly designed kitchen cannot get the stamp of completion with a well positioned sink missing. If you are looking out for one, then we have an option. Kohler, takes the concept of kitchen sinks to the next levels of innovation by giving it a taste of technology with their latest baby called the ‘Kohler Crevasse rinsing sink’. It won’t be an exaggeration, if the term ‘futuristic’ is associated with this designer wonder designed by world-class designer Anne Kitzmiller.
At the first look the Kohler Crevasse rinsing sink looks something like a 33-inch stainless steel slit cut out of your kitchen counter top. What next? Press the button…and there it cleans out all the food material down the drain. If that was less, press another button and put on the automatically synchronized garbage disposer!
The switch that lets you play with the gadget is equally funky in its stainless steel avatar with an edge-lit indicator, that glows the moment when the water is done with rinsing the of the sink. Hmm…I’m already getting greedy to gift this futuristic gadget to my kitchen!

No key keyboard
This one is the world’s first flattest full size QWERTY keyboard to date that features just a glass surface, camera and lighting! Yes, the all new alternative keyboard concept will be be packed with the latest motion capture technology to sense and watch your fingers pressing the keys to key-in just the right messages!
I just can’t imagine typing on a keyboard without even pressing the keys! Must say- the power of touch is working well! Though, other creations in the world of keyboards including the giant keyboard or the mobile keyboard were no less impressive.

LCD TV gets in 4th generation with Samsung’s Digital Masterworks Art-LCD TV cum art display
Posted in Designer Gadgets, HDTV, LCD, Luxury Gadgets, Television on 5 June 2008

Samsung’s hybrid LCD TV

LG’s Scarlet TV will lose it’s sheen and their latest baby XCanvas power saving TV would actually lack power the moment you get a glimpse of The Digital Masterworks Art-TV from Samsung, the fourth generation of their LCD technology.

What lends this TV a persona class apart when compared to the other TVs on the block is the fact that its fine 46-inch widescreen display is not just a regular TV screen but an object de art. You have to put your eyes on the fine art frame outlining the screen instead of the same old boring traditional bezel to believe what we are talking about. The 1080p resolution, 3,000:1 contrast ratio and 500 nits brightness, make the display of the TV no less than a piece worth alluring and technology worth praising.

This hybrid LCD TV will be jointly developed by Samsung in collaboration with Thomas Kinkade Company and will be embellished with some of the American painter’s more known realistic, bucolic, and idyllic prints on the set’s 40Gb hard drive, with updates available via cable or wirelessly.

If that was enough to make you drool, we have more of it…the company is also planning to introduce a touch sensitive screen that will enable users to play with lighting or colors within an artwork by hand…now that’s what we called innovation par imagination!

The ORB/ Time Orbit watch: Stylish but confusing watch concept
Posted in Concept, Designer Gadgets, Watch on 5 June 2008

ORB watch concept

The ORB or the Time Orbit Watch, which is actually just a concept as of now 9and also in the near future I suppose) makes time a fashion concept rather than a basic necessity.

Yes, designed by DjoDjo, the ORB delivers time in a unique and also hard to understand unconventional manner. It features rotating coloured lines instead of the hands representing time. Wanna adjust your watch? Just dragged or push the lines by your hand and there you are all set to play with time in your ORB watch.

No doubts the ORB looks trendy at a glance, but looks suitable only for the female users. Available in black and white colours the watch is perfect accessory to complement any trendy outfit but comes no close to a traditional watch that’s simple enough to tell the straight forward tale of time.
