The reason it looks so is, well because it is a Heineken beer keg! Duh! The Heineken Beer Keg guitar amplifier works awesome with your standard electric guitar and bass and also on your mp3 and mp4 players. You can throw up an attitude when the guys come in with a cool look and you can shove it onto their faces by showing them this uber-cool amplifier.

UV intensity bikini: Get tanned while protecting your skin
Posted in High tech, Wearable Technology on 2 September 2008

UV intensity Bikini
I just can’t believe the extent in which technology is seeping into the remotest part of our lifestyle. Only when I see the good old bikini turning into a Gikini or the bra glowing up with LEDs, I realize that we have actually moved ahead.
Another example of technology getting too close to us comes to fore in the shape of this UV Intensity Bikini. On one hand this one is a cool piece of garment not only to get tan at the right places but also tells you the right kind of tan that’s good for your skin.

This happens with the help of the tiny miny purple beads hanging on the bikini. These beads will keep changing their color to darker shades of purple as the UV rays in the sun grow from Moderate to Extreme levels. The darker the beads the more potential there is for crisp skin, sunstroke and skin cancer.
After all prolonged and extreme exposure to sun rays containing the UV effect is no good for your skin and we all know that all tan is no good tan…so why not sun bathe only till it’s good for the skin.

Posted in Gadget, High tech, Japanese gadgets, Misc. Gadgets, Unique Gadget on 23 August 2008

Imagine how cool it would be to alert oneself about an earthquake about to occur and also know how big the quake can really get. GraGraph is a device, which enables us to know the intensity of a quake on the Richter scale right from 3 to 10, but it’s not a predictor of earthquakes that’s going to occur. The device helps us to brace ourselves before any damage occurs. This device consists of an in built LCD clock, an alarm and a night-light. The GraGraph also records seismic activity where in the frequency or magnitude of any earthquake activity in a given area.

This Japanese product works on 4 AA batteries. One definitely would be overwhelmed as it provides an insight into the impending danger. GraGraph is a functional and efficient device, which costs a mere $185. If you can’t find it online, you can always buy one from a Japanese dealer. Meanwhile, the device may also help in creating awareness among people who seem to take earthquakes for granted, and quakes can occur anywhere, even in non-seismic zones. You could get this product online here.

Heralding interactivity: Talking Towers
Posted in Architecture, Concept, High tech, Japanese gadgets, Projectors on 18 August 2008

talking towers

Interactivity is the buzz word today and buildings were the only static thing untouched by this phenomenon until the concept of Talking Towers came into being.

Designed by Bieling Heydekamp Klotsche Zelmer, this is an Interactive Video-Installation, which gives participants the power to modulate and move the particles with the help of a light stick. Following this, the moving particles are then projected on the newly built Kranhaus SĂĽd in Cologne.

The installation is open to public viewing post August 16 during the “New Talents” Design Biennale.
