The research was conducted via the Web from a total of 750 IT administrators and managers, and the results seem quite encouraging: 4 out of 5 cases - that is a decent 80% - they have Mac OS X in its network, and a fourth of these 750 will have a significant amount (that is, more than 30 or 50, depending on the size of the company in question). Yankee Group says:

Although the hardware repono and Mac OS X operating system still represents a small niche, the adoption and acceptance Mac and its OS are growing at a sustained pace and that no firm saw from the 80s.

Finally, the analysis points out that to urge the adoption of computer designed in Cupertino play a predominant role technologies such as Safari, iChat, FileVault, Time Machine and all the other applications bundled together dates for the machinery.

First edition of Descolagem in NAVE! descolagem

It happened last Saturday in the incredible space NAVE the first edition of the event Descolagem, which was very well organized by Bob Largman and Lia Amancio, and should happen every two weeks.

The theme of this first Descolagem was “digital culture and the impact of technology”, and among the speakers / participants were Lucius Abbondati, entrepreneurs Fabio Seixas and Marco Gomes and Ronaldo Lemos of FGV-RJ and iCommons, plus a very special participation in Video of the genial professor Silvio Meira of CESAR (Center for Advanced Studies and Systems of Recife), which then interacted with these via Skype.

The Descolagem was moderated by my friends Bob Largman and Cris Dias. In addition to all that were in NAVE, the event was also accompanied by people from all over Brazil through a video transmission. The Wi-Fi connection was excellent, allowing the audience covering the event live, writing in their blogs or twitter, and putting the photos on Flickr.

The NAVE is a project of the Institute Hi Future, and is composed of the State College Jose Leite Lopes, the factory of Digital Culture (centre-research) and the power of Expression (space for exhibitions and seminars).
First edition of Descolagem in NAVE! descolagem naveThe place is striking, and deserves our applause for offering prospects for those who most need. These are projects like this that give new hope for the future of education in our country, whose biggest problem is lack of information and preparation for the labour market. Apart from revolutionary to attend this event, even had the pleasure to host my friend Lucia Freitas of Brazil Ladybug, who came from Sao Paulo to participate in only Descolagem. At the end of the event, there was a protest against the law of cybercrimes, which might end up with the freedom of the Internet in Brazil, but this already subject to another post.

Following the various problems and resistance encountered during the tender offer, Microsoft announced Tuesday completely abandoned its intention to buy the Yahoo! The truth is that with so many charges by the shareholders of Yahoo! and the low price offered, it seemed from the start a business destined to fail.

Who should have been pleased with the withdrawal of Microsoft should have been so Google does not see take place one of the greatest threats that could have to face the short term and instead move to have a major competitor will have two competitors weaker (MSN Search and Yahoo!).
