Disney USB memory keys from Buffalo

Disney USB drive from Buffallo

Not just kids but even adults specially the gadget lover adults are in love with Disney. I’m saying this as every now and then we keep writing about one or the other Disney famed gadgets. The latest in the series is the all new USB ‘mi-keys’ from Buffallo.

Six of them are available in two versions namely 2Gb and 4GB. The choice falls between The RUF2-DCNR series, which falls under the 2 GB capacity while the other i.e the RUF2-DCNR2 series is available lavish 4GB of storage space.

Talk about looks, then I don’t think there should be any prizes for guessing that they are loaded with Disney characters, particularly the former model which will feature 4 different pictures of Disney Characters.

With this I would like to give a suggestion, you can present the Mickey mouse version to your Bro and if you have a dear sister, then the Minnie mouse is perfect for her. Though the smart minds can also think about impressing their love with this hi-tech gift.

p-Teq: USB pregnancy test kit

By Andrew | April 8, 2008

USB pregnancy kit

It seems the gadget world is all set t rule out the existence of medical tests from the profile of hospitals. Be it the ECG monitor or this unique home pregnancy test kit, both hint at the same.

Named as p-Teq, this one is a USB based pregnancy test kit.
Just like the regular pregnancy test kits, even with this one you need to pee on the absorbent strip available at one end and plug it into your computer with the USB on the opposite side covered with a cap Once you do this the power from your USB port starts the electrospray ionization process, creating a spectrograph of the various masses for your analysis.

You can know if you are pregnant and if so, the estimated delivery date based on the concentration of hCG, hCG-H, and LH hormones in your urine.

p-Teq USB Pregnancy Test Kit scores over the traditional kits as it     can detect 5-50 mIU/mL, and will show you the exact concentration via its friendly onscreen interface, which takes place in the usual ones only with a level of 15-50 mIU/mL of hCG.
If you are pregnant the LCD display on the device will show a symbol of baby and if not then a no-baby symbol and even multiples. Not just this, it also gives you an Estimated Delivery Date based on the concentration of hCG, hCG-H, and LH in your urine.
Once you are done with it just take out the device from the computer and change the strip.

Solar powered USB drive

By Andrew | February 22, 2008

solar flash drive

There are both positive and negative points in this USB drive. Positive that it features a little screen on the face of the USB flash drive that makes it easy to show how much space is available in the flash drive, without plugging it into the computer. Another positive point is that the drive takes power from the sun. Yes, this one is a solar powered USB drive.
But the only negative is that you can charge it only when you are working while sitting in the sun, which usually doesn’t happens coz most of the time the USB drives are lying either in our bags or drawers. So a piece of advice that comes here says that if you want to take the benefits of this Drive, keep it near a place where it can eat sun required to get the power.
But no doubts it’s a promising design!

USB takes animal avatars

By Andrew | January 27, 2008

It seems the USB drive makers are getting too much into innovasion as they are experimenting a great deal with the way they look. Its not just the material used tat is being challenged but also the shapes and sizes that they are available in. Sometime back we talked about the Wooden and precious stone encrusted USB drives and today we have come across the funky animal drives from the house of Minimoo

pig.jpg

They are no better than the usual stuff apart from the fact that they  are good enough to bring a smile on your face everytime you use one. Those which caught my fancy include the unique Turtle Goran, Fredrick, the USB gorilla, Jan the USB sheep and Maud the USB pig.

The USB drives are available in 1, 2 & 4GB space at the price that range between between $43-$75.

Precious USB keys from Zana

By Andrew | January 26, 2008

untitled-1.jpg

If the current trends are considered, it won’t be wrong to say that more than an object of technical utility a USB drive is turning into a fashion statement.
Check out the latest jazzy collection of USB drives from the house of Zana Designes, and you’ll agree what I’m saying.
Their unusual series of USB keys have everything from wood designs to silver linings to those encrusted with “precious stones”. This is not where the uniqueness of these keys gets exhausted; they boast their products to be totally handmade, adding in the element of personal touch and uniqueness to every individual key. Also, no two keys are identical, which means every one using the Zana product is unique in their own way.

As far as storage goes, the USB keys are available in 1gb or 2gb capacities,  and are priced anywhere between $64 to $74 for the 2GB versions. Of course, $74 for 2Gb is way overpriced but these USB keys do look kind of luxurious. Hmm…quite a lavish way to store data!

iPod look alike USB drives

By Andrew | January 24, 2008

pod-copy.jpg

Don’t know if anyone would actually find any unique feature in the USB drive other than the looks. Designed as a prototype of an iPod, this one is cute and different.

It’s just like storing your data not on the ipod but on the little version of your music machine, with the only difference that on these iPod will also store those files that your iPod fails to do.

Available at FruitShop this one is one of their funky drives that are sure to bring a smile on your face every time you use the cute tiny iPod drive flashing it’s eyes at you.

pod2.jpg

To plug them inside your comp you just need to bend them and plug. Don’t worry! They don’t break as the USB drives are made in soft and flexible material. Each drive comes home with a easy to handle electric strap and covered with a removable silicone case that’s soft to the touch.
Now this is not where the story ends, they are available in three funky colors, black, white and pink. No info available about the price as yet.

By Andrew | November 22, 2007

usb-chiller.jpg

You cannot image all that the USB can do for you. It’s reaching out to places and uses that you cannot even think.

The latest use that they have been put to is keeping your coffee hot and drinks cold. Yes, the all new USB-powered drink chiller and warmer contains a USB powered hotplate that turns hot or cold with just a flip of a button.

The device doesn’t boasts to steam hot your cold coffee or chill a warm drink, though it will do justice to bring them back to their respective enjoyable temperatures. The cooling will be till a temperature of 45degrees Fahrenheit.

Hmm…seems quite cool particularly for those late night sittings before your laptop in the office.

Price: $25
