Cellphones That Could See Through Walls, In Theory

By Vlad | October 2, 2008

There have been a number of concept phones, which have been covered on this blog, but there couldn’t be anything like the one that we are going to reveal just now. The KDDI scientists have developed a concept phone that could see through the walls and in fact see through opaque surfaces.

The prototype was created using geomagnetic sensors, accelerometers, GPS etc. The device is equipped with high technology, which enables it to determine its own position and also render its surroundings on screen in OpenGL, which consists areas that are not visible. However this phone is still in a theory stage and has not been manufactured yet, even conceptually.

Most of you will agree when I say that it is the elderly people who need cell phones at max and they are the only ones who usually face problem when operating the cumbersome cell phones.

If you also have one such grandpa or granny at your place, whom you want to be totally independent when home alone, then get home this new phone as it is out in the market.

With this phone at hand, remembering the tedious process of dialing that 9 digit long number will not be any issue as this phone does away with need of dialing. It comes with a bunch of RFID tagged badges, where in you can feed numbers and the corresponding photos.

And all they have to do is just place the badge of the concerned person on thebig call button at the center and push. The phone will read the RFID info and make the call. Don’t you think they’ll love it…yes they will.

New Concept phone with a built in projector

By Andrew | October 17, 2007

concept phone

For those corporate souls who breathe in the air of business most of the time and are no better than a handicap in a meeting sans their projector needed for a presentation….have a reason to smile.

What?

Here is the most compact …utterly personal and all time and anywhere available projector. Actually it would be an injustice to tag this wonder gadget as just a projector or for that mater as just a phone, which it also is.

We are talking about this new concept phone designed by Stefano Casanova. This one is not only new in its looks but also homes a few chic features including a Windows Mobile OS, a rotating screen with a built-in projector set in an ultra slim bod. The only problem is that it’s still a concept and you have to wait till it materializes into a chic phone to put your hands upon.
