USB 3.0 To Be 10 Times Faster

By Vlad | August 30, 2008

USB

USB 3.0 is apparently going to be ten times faster than USB 2.0 .The USB 3.0 works at a super speed exchanging data of speed up to 4.8 Gbps truly much greater when compared to USB 2.0. Another advantage is its ability to receive and send data at the same time, which was not present in the previous versions. One doesn’t have to worry if your device doesn’t support USB 3.0 as it’s sure to work on it at the lower, but supported speed.
The new version of USB connectors gives many options for adaptation. A speed of up to 4.8 Gbps is sufficient for HD video as well as audio signal broadcast working efficiently unlike USB 2.0 version where in the speed is limited to external devices like the portable HDDs or external optical drives. The cable seems to be a little thick, which might be reasonable for such a huge increase in speed.

Business Cards are passé: Information Ring is the buzz

By Andrew | January 18, 2008

This is indeed a futuristic means to exchange the basic info, which was till now being exchanged through business cards. What we are here talking about are the “Information Rings”, that facilitate the transfer of contact details when two people wearing the rings shake their hands.

A concept initiated by designer, Hideaki Matsui, the Information Ring adds a new dimension to the universally accepted customary greeting action. The moment you shake hands with someone wearing the ring, the information about the two gets exchanged and stored inside the ring. More people you meet, more information keeps transferred, bringing people closer to each other.

And later on you can sit and browse on the card all the info that they have gathered during their meetings and shakehands throughout the day.

The part about the ring is that it uses no external source of power but the temperature of your hands for all kinds of info transfer.

Pretty futuristic seems to be the concept and also this global flow of info throu touch will also take some time till a great deal of people have the ‘Information Ring”.
