Maple wooden cell phone
By Cheryl | August 5, 2008

After talking loads about all those so called materialistic phones loaded with metals and bling effect, it comes as a sigh of relief and a peep into innovation to see a mobile phone made of wood. Christened as Maple wooden phone, this one looks no better than just a piece of wood till it is touched. As you touch it turns into a fully functional cell phone at your rescue.
Made in African Blackwood, the Maple phone measures 4.5 x 10.4 x 9.8 cm and is loaded with all the features commonly found in general cell phones including MP3 player, digital camera, apart from the basic calling and texting services.
The display of the phone is located at the back which becomes visible you slide the phone. So, with this you know that the phone is a slider, thanks to the sensors which are sensitive to touches. The buttons are touch-sensitive that turn on when you touch and get ready for your inputs with the capacitive touch technology.
Still a concept designed by Hyun Jin Yoon and Eun Hak Lee, the phone is awaiting production. As far as the price is concerned, the phone will be cheaper than any other average cellphones, since it’s made of wood.

The Glovephone concept for extreme conditions
By Andrew | May 29, 2008

If you are bored of the usual mobile phones and are looking forward to something really innovative and unique then the Glovephone is for you. Jokes apart, the Glove phone is actually a glove designed like a phone that can be worn on the hand and connect to your handset. Meant particularly for people living in extreme weather conditions or for the rescue workers who work under extreme conditions to keep their hands least exposed.
Not just this, the Glovephone features an emergency button if you get injured in limited mobility conditions.
The palm of the glove features the cute keypad while the index finger homes the speaker that falls right there on your ear and not to forget the mouthpiece which is just near the mound. For your information the glovephone is programmed to dial 911 automatically in case you end up fighting fist by someone. Can’t say much about the success of the concept, but no doubt it looks innovative for sure.

Cicarette box 668: It’s a designer cell phone
By Andrew | April 1, 2008

There’s nothing new about the designer cell phone concept, it has been there for quite a while. But cell phone manufacturers keep the excitement levels high in the concept by feeding the design hungry users with some of the jazziest of designer cell phones. And the all new Cicarette box 668 cell phone is another addition to the rocking trail of designer cell phones. Taking the inspiration from a Marlboro cigarette box, the 668 comes to fore as a dual band GSM phone that offers the regular features innovatively packed inside a chic outer design.
Talk about the features and you’ll find a 1.8″ color LCD screen on one side of the box, while other features like an awesome MP4 & MP3 player and 3GP videos player find a place here. One can also surf the web via WAP, while there are two games loaded in it including the good old Tetris and Five in a row.
Quite an innovative design but I wonder if it will actually find some takes for gone are the days when being spotted with a cigarette pack in hands was considered fashionable by the new Gen. But still, you can gift it to a friend who is trying hard to quit smoking. (hope he takes it in good spirits).
So if you are all game to grab your Cicarette box 668, then let me tell you the price. It’s available for ₤69.41 in red or white colours.
