Get innovative: Get Jupiter mouse, the accelerometer mouse
Posted in Computer, Computer accessory, Designer Gadgets, Mouse on 15 July 2008

Jupiter Mouse accelerometer woodden mouse

Now we are going to talk about a mouse, but strictly for those who are indeed dead bored of the scrawling thing under their palm and are ready to experiment to the hilt. Check out the unique Jupiter mouse. Yes, it goes looks like a tiny miny wooden avatar of a ping-pong ball but it is actually a mouse.
Now coming to the functionality of this innovative version of the good old mouse, You bet it’s damn good. You just need to tilt it and the direction and velocity of the tilt will determine the movement of the cursor in this spherical wonder.
Even the Jupiter mouse rests under your palm but is better than the old concept since it brings a sense of novelty in that otherwise dud and dead job of scrawling and clicking. Designed by the minds working at Actbrise Electronics, the Jupiter mouse is handmade from Chinese flowering ash in Japan’s rural Gunma prefecture and is called so because of the natural wood grain swirls that it uses and of course the click button that resembles the largest planet’s famous spot.
A little bit of innovation and experimentation adds into the charm and breaks the monotony of a job…and the Jupiter mouse does exactly the same…hope you agree.

Kohler Crevasse Sink

A perfectly designed kitchen cannot get the stamp of completion with a well positioned sink missing. If you are looking out for one, then we have an option. Kohler, takes the concept of kitchen sinks to the next levels of innovation by giving it a taste of technology with their latest baby called the ‘Kohler Crevasse rinsing sink’. It won’t be an exaggeration, if the term ‘futuristic’ is associated with this designer wonder designed by world-class designer Anne Kitzmiller.
At the first look the Kohler Crevasse rinsing sink looks something like a 33-inch stainless steel slit cut out of your kitchen counter top. What next? Press the button…and there it cleans out all the food material down the drain. If that was less, press another button and put on the automatically synchronized garbage disposer!
The switch that lets you play with the gadget is equally funky in its stainless steel avatar with an edge-lit indicator, that glows the moment when the water is done with rinsing the of the sink. Hmm…I’m already getting greedy to gift this futuristic gadget to my kitchen!

No key keyboard

Delicate, transparent, elegant, subtle and classy are a few adjectives that we usually associated with a fine creation of glass. How about loading it with a great deal of technology, unique and intelligent designing and an equally intelligent concept to make a dazzling glass keyboard?
Yes, check out Kong Fanwen’s ‘No-key Keyboard’ and you’ll know what we are talking about. When flat-surface is spinning the world with every other cellphone, TV or ipod going flat, the no-key keyboard is another step towards the flat and touch-screen revolution but in something like a keyboard which was never thought of being ‘key-less’!
No key keyboard
This one is the world’s first flattest full size QWERTY keyboard to date that features just a glass surface, camera and lighting! Yes, the all new alternative keyboard concept will be be packed with the latest motion capture technology to sense and watch your fingers pressing the keys to key-in just the right messages!
I just can’t imagine typing on a keyboard without even pressing the keys! Must say- the power of touch is working well! Though, other creations in the world of keyboards including the giant keyboard or the mobile keyboard were no less impressive.

Yamaha Deus Ex Machina: Single passenger wearable motorcycle concept
Posted in Auto, Concept, Designer Gadgets, Wearable Technology on 25 May 2008

Deus Ex machina motor cycle

If you vouch for wearability, sleekness and innovation in the motor cycle that you ride, then the Yamaha Deus Ex Machina is sure to catch your fancy. Designed by Jake Loniak, this one scores high on wearability quotient since the driver is required to be worn bythe driver. Yamaha Deus Ex Machina is an an electric, single passenger, vertically parking, wearable motorcycle, that is controlled via 36 pneumatic muscles and 2 linear actuators.
If that was enough to let your curiosity buds go on a tizzy, the let me tease them further with the news that the mean machine is good enough to hit 0-60 MPH in three seconds and 60-0 in the side of a bus. I wish the concept all the best as I don’t think the so called wearable bike will score high on comfort levels and any body would like to be spotted on road looking like a wasp scrolling the streets in that ugly looking auto attire.

Time Life Index Watch

Blame it to the human curiosity or the everlasting desire to live, each one of us is always concerned about our longevity, age or in simple words, how long will we live. Now, Timex is here to answer this complex but inevitable question with their latest concept in time telling called the ‘Time Life Index Watch’.
This unique watch from the time machine giant sticks to your body like a patch and keeps ticking, every moment reminding you of the time left with you on this planet.

Move inside the technicalities and what comes to fore as a detailed process that uses the biometric information (including factors like health, fitness, stress, nutrition, sleep and the amount of sleep and stress that you are exposed to ) that the watch takes from your body to convert it into figures. These figures are then used by the Index Watch to make a well calculated assumption about the time left with you.

Don’t get disheartened. there’s also a positive to this wonder gadget. It will also show you days and months being added in your span, whenever you get involved in a healthy task like exercising or a good diet. Won’t it be a great moral booster to see life getting added?
