BacVac Concept by Continuum

BacVac Concept

I really cherish the advent of evolving concepts that vouches for its possible functionality. Readers, customers, retailers enjoy going through such stuff that makes them familiar with the futuristic patterns thereby governing the hi-tech style era. And the latest in the news is a cool-tool vacuum maker called “the BakVac” from Continuum

It helps you do away with your old exercise of dragging moving parts that helps you clean dust by positioning them at your back like a turtle. Quite sensible! This thought of adding an inch extra of comfort level can be factored by its electric motor powered by a fuel cell, keeping those pesky electrical cables from tripping you up.

BacVac Concept

It may take some time to be functional enough as its dependence upon fuel cell technology is not cheap enough in juxtaposition to other wild designs available today.

Seems the world is opening it eyes to the cause of saving power and getting into the eco-friendly groove. Be it the Solar powered lamp or the USB drive or charger…every now an then one can see an addition into the list of eco-friendly gadgets, that not just prove to be cost effective ut save loads of power as well.
The next in league is these Wind-Lit Solar LED lights. Pretty to look and intelligent to use, these tiny LED lights take power from not one but two sources of nature- Sun and Wind.
All you need to see them working is just leave them hanging in your home all day long so that they can absorb the required power from the sun to be used later. This was the part played by the sun, now talk about wind and it does its due by spinning them around once again to charge them.
As the day comes to a close, you can see the lights glowing with a soft light. A perfect lighting accessory to brighten up your porch with soft light in the evening, the Wind-Lit Solar lights will make you the recipient of some compliments for saving the earth and power

Glow rug: The glow when pressed carpet

By Andrew | March 30, 2008

Glow Rug

Red carpet is passé….it seems it’s the time for Glow Carpet welcomes now! No, we are not intimidating you about any alterations in the grand ‘Red-carpet welcome’ at the Oscars, but about a futurist carpet concept that is god enough to give a glowing warm welcome to your guests or beloved!
We are talking about the Glow Rug, invented by two engineering students - , co-founders of Zolo Designs at London South Bank University. In a layman’s language, with every step your guests put on the rug it will glow to give them a warm welcome.
Now talking about the technicalities, the rug is treated with touch-sensitive electroluminescence, which glows as some weight falls on it. Electroluminescence comes into process by passing current through light-emitting material, when it is electrified (powdered phosphorous in this case).  When excited, it produces an instantly recognizable green-cyan glow, which you usually find in LCD wristwatches and thin film nightlights.
Powered by a set of rechargeable batteries, illumination of the Glow rug finds its roots in this concept itself. So the next time you have some guests…you know how you are going to welcome them. And in case you are sleep walker or a tripping and falling-pro, then you have an extra requirement of the Glow Rug, for with this on the floors you won’t have to search for the switches of night lights. And in case you have a party at your home Glow rug can be handy there too…not just in the glow when press mode, but in pre-set time for flashing mode as well.

Remote Rain™ Water Control: Automated control for water

By Andrew | March 28, 2008

Remote Rain™ Water Control

Gardening is not my hobby though I don’t mind spending time with plants, but when it comes to watering them, I just cannot make those innumerable trips to garden to chek the hose or carry that bucket full of water.
If this is a hassle with you too, then even you’ll love this Remote Rain™ Water Control. This gadget will help you control the watering of your garden with just a click of a button on the remote, while you catch your favourite TV show.
Even when you are 100’ away the handy key fob remote control will turn on and off the water faucet. All you need to do to ensure a comfort zone for you is attach the control unit between the hose and the faucet… load the unit with four AA batteries and you are all set to give a hassle free watering to your plants. I guess, it would have been much better if instead of battery, electricity would have powered the control unit.
Talk about the looks and the control unit offers a decent white and grey colour combination, while the coupling is in brass. A soft grip at the ends offers a comfortable working pattern.
So in case you are gamed to have a tension-free comfortable watering experience, all you need to shell out is $ 69.9 and it will be yours forever.

Washing Machine cum Toilet to save water

By Andrew | March 22, 2008

Washing Machine cum Toilet

Now…finally the world is listening to the ‘SAVE WATER’ call! I’m saying this as I’ve seen this unique washing machine-toilet combo that does the trick. An intelligent work of mind, this unique gadget fits a WashUP washing machine over a toilet.
Now, the good that this appliance does is that once the clothes are washed, the used water instead of getting thrown away stores it in the load, which is later on used to flush the toilet.
Can’t resist saying that the combo must be an intelligent mind’s brain child. A great way to save water as usually the water left post washing is wasted by letting I into the drain. But with this at service, very easily we’ll be able to put it to a very much valid use. I hope the design gets the approval of the manufacturers and soon we can see it in as many homes looking forward to saving some water.

By Andrew | February 7, 2008

kraeutli_magnetic_curtain_1-cropped.jpg

Please don’t kill me for what I’ve brought next is another household gadget. But it’s not simple anymore, rather a highly advanced version of your good old curtains, which had been living a life untouched by those techies till now.
But they are no more untouched today…finally they have made it to the technology world and it has transformed the old free-falling cloth curtain into a highly advanced magnetic curtain.
We are talking about the curtains designed by Florian Krautli’s that’s sure to leave the interior designer’s sighing!
The catch here is that the magnetic effect in the curtains allows the user to fold, crush, place, shape their curtains in whatever beautiful, whimsical, unique or bizarre shape they like.
In short, curtains will no longer have a great fall…but unique folds that the curtains and curtain users are accustomed to but will feature creases instead.
Must say curtains have finally moved out of the home into the techie-arena…lets wait and watch for the next new innovation they go through!!

USB Aromatherapy Oil Burner: No memory though!

By Andrew | February 7, 2008

burner-croopped1.jpg

I told you earlier as well that I’m in love with multipurpose gadgets. The purpose for picking this scented USB Aromatherapy Oil Burner was just that I thought it was one of those multipurpose gadgets but unfortunately it was not. Febreze is a USB drive look alike that works like a Aroma Therapy Oil Burner. Since I saw it for the first time so preferred telling all of you about it…just a piece of info… may be!
All you need to have the sweet smell of rose all around is put a few drops of the aroma oil that comes along into the USB and then insert it into your PC’s port.
Just as you do it, space around your workstation will start smelling of roses soothing your mind and take away all the depression I you are going through with any as rose oil is considered to have unique anti-depressant qualities.
This is not where the smell story of the USB Aromatherapy Oil Burner USB ends, the smell also have some aphrodisiac qualities to make a beautiful gift this valentine. (I’m afraid if your man will be able to concentrate on work when this USB drive is on work!)
If rose is not your pick, you can also pick from the jasmine and peppermint burners that come in yellow and green colours. I wish they would have packed in some memory space also…it could have been a rocking air freshner then…isn’t?
