Sony Corp lately announced that it will hit Japan market with its four new models of Blu-ray high-definition optical disc recorders on 8 November. This move can be witnessed towards its ongoing combat with the HD DVD.

Sony plans to promote Blu-Ray technology with Panasonic maker Matsushita Electric Industrial Co that is in competition with the HD DVD format and is back sided by Toshiba and Microsoft.
The upcoming models are competent enough to store up to 16 hours of high-definition programmes on a dual-layer. The high-end model of the four comes along with a 500-GB hard disk drive and is expected with a retail price of 200,000 yen ($1,752). The USP of the Blu-ray recorders is its capability to handle traditional DVD discs.

The talk here is about the expected launch of Vista SP1 beta1. Possibility is questioned due to the earlier delay of first Vista pack. But runour is spreading around like a virus that this time
Beta 1 of Vista SP1 would hit the market in mid-July (during the week of 16 July).
Against this, the U.S. Department of Justice and other company watchers believe that SP1’s final version will enter into the market only in November 2007, which is probable tome for the launch of Windows Server 2008 (Longhorn Server).
Instead of making loads of promises and following under-delivery approach, Microsoft’s Windows client team plans to follow a restraining information-flow policy. To practice the policy, Director of Windows Engineering Steven Sinofsky is making efforts to maintain secrecy about the insights of the issues related to future Windows client guidelines.
Besides desktop-search modifications, Microsoft’s SP1 would be renowned for its fixes rather than features.
1) S1 assures is not time-consuming in terms of copying files and shutting down Vista machines.
2) The SD Advanced Direct Memory Access (DMA) offers enhanced transfer performance and decreased CPU utilization.
3) It has the ability to boot Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) on an x64 machine
