GadgetsBlog is the last place you might think you would find yourself reading about the developments of the electoral campaign between McCain and Obama, but exceptions have to be mad every now and then. McCain’s recent remark about Obama’s supposed ridiculous earmark for an overhead projector for a planetarium have the gadget freaks siding with Obama.
The projector in question is the Adler Zeiss Mark VI projector which is actually not an overhead projector according to a press release by the Adler Planetarium. The Adler Planetarium of Chicago further reveals that this is the projector which provides you the typical planetarium experience by reproducing the night sky in a dome theatre. Â The reason why Adler Planetarium wishes to renew their projector is because spare parts and service is no longer being provided by the manufacturer for the old design and a new projector is desperately needed for the continuation of the planetarium.

The appearance of stars can do a lot of things. It can put people into romantic musings, computer geeks may start speaking in sonnets and most everyone else gets dreamy eyed. Wishing upon a star is believed to make them true and lying in bed at night, falling asleep while watching stars is rumoured to give you great dreams. Whatever may be the consequences of it, everyone loves star-gazing, but this is often rendered impossible because of cloudy or dark nights when stars seem to shy away from making an appearance. Even on the clearest night, only a telescope can help us view the most. The HomeStar Planetarium Projector gives users the chance to view over 10,000 stars.
This futuristic looking shiny black ball sitting on its own stand allows users to have an amazing view of the starry sky by projecting the image upon the wall on ceiling of the room. The HomeStar Planetarium Projector offers a high-quality display and is motorized to move the star map in perfect time with the stars, as it rotates on its axis. Stargazers may even catch a view of random streaking meteors with this projector. It also contains two high resolution disks that show star field views of the northern and southern skies. The HomeStar Planetarium Projector costs $130 from Amazon and can run on either battery pack or AC adaptor.

Carrying your notebook and running around to find a projector every time you need to give a PowerPoint presentation is such a waste of time. Next time, walk into the boardroom with a two-in-one notebook/projector and impress your boss. You will look more in control of the situation if you are not bogged down carrying loads of items. Not to mention, so very cool. The portable PC theatre concept incorporates a multimedia PC and a 5.1 surround sound movie system.
With a nearby power outlet, the Portable PC Theatre would keep going for hours; the notebook battery may not work for a long time because unfortunately, this baby eats up a lot of power. The projector can also be detached and placed on an even surface during use, in case over-heating occurs inside the unified casing. The Portable PC Theatre has a design that makes it easy to carry but the features haven’t caught on enough to get it beyond the conceptual stage.

The Black Viper glides in from the domicile of Planar and I am sure its vibes are enough to gather your attention. Distinctly developed to fit into your den, Planar’s Viper was purposely engineered to render matchless HD feat on truly large displays (bigger than 110-inches). Tugged with a three-chip DLP, it sports 10-bit autonomous dual image dispensation, a 10,000:1 contrast ratio (at 2,000 lumens of brightness), and 1280 X 720p resolution that does justice to a 110-inch screen. Designed using Texas Instruments, the projector guarantees to bring out the best black level facsimile for an obverse projector wherever.
If you have lost your heart to this projector then behave maturely and dig into your deep pockets by shelling over a callous sum of $15,500.
