Bored of those tiny miny remote controlled Star war robots that your dad had been gifting you since your third birthday? Check out the life sized robot in shape of this universe’s campest robot C-3PO and his faithful twittering companion, R2-D2.
Yes, they are life-sized but replicas of the originals but good enough to pamper your love and mad craze to collect the automatic dolls.
Not just these are the exactly accurate reproductions straight from the flick, but also feature sound systems and lights to put them a little close to their original avatars when powered by a set of AA batteries. Each of them come with a display base and a magnetically attached restraining bolt to keep them in check.
Made in fiberglass and “various quality materials”, these mechanicals wonders can adorn your hi-tech living space and become the charm of your robot collection by the end of this year, thanks to the supplier Sideshow Collectibles.
Now coming to the money matter, don’t expect them to be any way light on your pockets coz one of these in your home can cost you a whopping $6,000 with a “restraining bolt accessory” to help you take the full fun of your new toys.

Tankpitstop- Robotic Arm to fill gas in your Car

By Andrew | February 7, 2008

Tankpitstop

At last I am writing about something that I can proudly call a gadget…I guess it’s worth the title of –‘Gadget of the Day’!
I am talking about these unique robotic hands called Tankpitstop, that are busy filling fuel in vehicles at the petrol pumps in Netherlands. Man, I wish even we had a few of these!
The Tankpitstop robotic arm is the brainchild of Dutch inventors, which uses a wide range of highly effective sensors together with a car database that guides the arm with the correct location of the car gas flap, open it, unscrew it and fill in the gas tank- all on it’s own sans any human aid. (Psst! Why I’m telling that, robots are supposed to work like that!)
Any guesses what inspired the designer to come up with a robotic solution Tankpitstop, to fill in the gas tank? It was from a robotic arm milking a cow! Great observing eye, Nici van Straveren, must say!
Currently installed only at Neatherlands, Staveren hopes to se his wonder arm installed at gas stations around Netherlands.
Till that, we hope, he’ll be able to hone Tankpitstop even for the cars that need a key for access the tank, which it is not adept at currently.
The cost that the inventors incurred to bring Tankpitstop into action is $1111000.

Throw a hi-tech party with robots at your service

By Andrew | October 23, 2007

mobile robot

Once again, Mobile Robots have put heir technological faculties at work to come up with a revamped version of their commercial PatrolBot design to provide consumers with three all new robots all set to serve namely Jeeves the butler, who’ll be your tecno-butler to serve drinks at he next party that you throw.

Next in line is the Agent 007As the name suggests this one will be your security guard who’ll roam about in your home capturing photos to ensure you are safe and will also remind you when you leave that door ajar.

Last but not the least comes the BrewskiBot and no prizes for guessing it right that this one will get you a chilled drink whenevr you feel the need to beat the heat.

Working on the same 12 solar sensors, 10 bumper pads, an electric motor and wireless control design as used in the PetroBot, these wonder robots will be a treat for the housewives, who love to throw parties. You just need to programme them according to the floor plan of your home and they’ll be more than happy to take thecharge of your day to day activities.

The only thing that’ll stop your union with these wonder gadgets is the real big price tag that they bear…else they can be anyway a better pick than that dated refrigerator and even boring butler of yours.

Price: $31,000-$35,000
