Steampunk Clock With A Quartz Movement
Posted in Designer Gadgets on 19 October 2008

Sometimes the modern chic gets us so badly that even the unlikely ones find solace in the steampunk movement. So long as we crave for a future that is powered with steam, the strangely romantic steampunk products continue to be popular. The Steampunk Large Wall Clock I found on cafepress has a diameter of seventeen inches and can be read from any corner of the room.

This can be used in your game room, or perhaps in the garage. And why not in the living room! The clock has a Quartz movement and needs only a single ‘AA’ battery. The plastic body and face are the only drawbacks to this awesome steampunk clock. The Steampunk Large Wall Clock costs $39.99.

Archbishop computer

If change is what you love and experimentation is what you don’t mind and daring is your spiri then, you have all the characteristics to make you an ideal owner of the new Archbishop PC. Coming from the house of Datamancer, the Gothic PC homes a full computer inside a stained glass cabinet, while the monitor finds home in a Gothic arch.

Breathing in the gothic era are the The LCD/Keyboard/Mouse combo which specially cater to the gaming fans. The Console features 20″ widescreen LG LCD, dual core processor, 2GB DDR2 800 (upgradable to 8G), Ethernet, NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS 512MB Video Card.

This is not where the Gothic story ends, there’s more of suspense. It comes with an antique that is used as a pointer device, housed in a Wacom drawing tablet that can use either a pen or a mouse. The case can be given a close look and also purchased at the upcoming Steampunk art show at the Hamptons Antique Galleries at NY from August 16 till August 24.

Steampunk mouse: Only looks no function mouse
Posted in Mouse on 17 July 2008

Steampunk is once again doing the rounds of blogosphere, this time for it’s new baby called the mouse. The only difference here is that, the mouse is not touching the degrees of fame that were marked by steampunk’s watch.

The mouse is loosing out on the functionality. Great to look but not so great when it comes to putting it to use, the steampunk mouse is loaded with aesthetic qualities but doesn’t score when it comes to using it thanks to the uncomfortable shape and size. It’s very tough to keep your hands on it for very long.

To top it all, looking like coming in from the Victorian history, the bulky creation weighs 10 pounds and is embellished with so many of jewels that at one stage you start hating them since they do everything to work on the mouse cumbersome. Not just that uncomfortable, but painful too, when so many tiny nail like inscriptions dig into your palm. So I give the steampunk mouse a 3 out of 10.
