You might always have dreamt of owning your own toy sentry and keeping all worries at bay. The Rovio, one of WowWee’s finest Webcam-Equipped Robotic Sentry might sound like a science fiction robot but this product is made closer to reality. The Rovio comes with a great package of Audio and high-resolution.
640 x 480 Webcam to stream back live video in MPEG4 format is a great feature and further, the Rovio consists of two-way microphone and a speaker enabling real-time interaction with subjects. Three wheels support its chassis, providing 360° movement and its camera boom extends to its surroundings. It operates for two hours and requires a PC running on Windows XP or Vista or Macintosh with a Wi-Fi card, a broadband Internet connection, router, or other type of wireless access point.

Internet experiences are not complete today unless you switch on your webcam and make a disgusting face or blow a kiss at someone. Such an important accessory to your computer has to look cool and keep changing faces. The TIE Fighter webcam is modeled after the aircraft used to hunt down Darth Vader in (do I really have to say it?) the Star Wars movies. This miniature version of the space-fighter can be fitted to the screen of your system and would look pretty futuristic sitting atop it.
As a replica of the Star Wars space-craft, the TIE Fighter webcam appears as a white ‘aircraft’ with folded wings on both sides. The nose of the aircraft cleverly conceals the actual camera, thus not taking away the look of the ship. The webcam is fitted with two LEDs sitting right below the nose to shine light on your face. The TIE Fighter webcam is priced at an extremely affordable almost throwaway price of $40. This would surely have the Star Wars freaks rushing to every shop selling the webcam.

Overshadowing the doubts of ASUS coming out with the cheapest UMPC ever, the company has lately unveiled its new W5Fe series of notebooks in India. This 12-inch electronic product comes packed with a unique external display known as “SideShow”. The USP of the display resides in its feature to switch on without starting the entire system, thereby displaying preferred information via text, images and audio. The high-resolution swivel webcam gives this product every reason to flaunt itself with wireless video communiqué.
The features of this power-packed device doesn’t end here as operating on Windows Vista with an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor; the notebook carries 1.5GB of DDR2 RAM, 160 GB hard disk, a TV-Out, 3 USB ports and 8in1 card-reader.
With 12.1-inch WXGA LCD display, the device is ready to hit its prospective user at $2,423. But I am still hopeful that ASUS update its portfolio soon by adding the tag of producing the Cheapest UMPC till date.
